DIY BB cream

I'm the type of girl who can't look at things without wondering how they are made or how I could do it better lol. So naturally I am always on Pintrest or just typing random junk into google to start a new project or to see what I could be doing and what other people have come up with. I figured why not start a blog about the stuff I have been diy-ing and making as of forever and lately. Hoping to gain inspiration and inspire other people too :) I'm going to be posting my favorites...my successfuls... and my fails with all of my diys and some other tid bits of this little life of mine.  So I hope you enjoy!
My Pintrest boards :)

DIY MAKEUP

Here are some things I've been messing around with...

DIY BB CREAM :P

If you like makeup I'm sure that you have creams, foundations, concealers, other BB creams or whatever you use to make you happier and with the seasons changing the color of your skin normally does as well. I was looking around and trying to come up with an easier more summer friendly way to do my makeup and this is what's been on my face as of now and for about a week.
What I've been doing is working for me.
I found it on pintrest looking for diy makeup so it's not my idea of course :)

Materials-
  • L'Oreal magic skin beautifier BB cream in fair (too light for right now)
  • Revlon Photo Ready BB cream (too weird textured to use alone for me)
  • Benzol Peroxide cream
  • Glycerine
  • Sunblock
  • Almond oil
  • My regular everyday moisturizer
  • NYX Above and Beyond full coverage concealer in beige
  • E.L.F concealer in Ivory
  • E.L.F corrective concealer (I used the darker color)
  • A few drops of cooling and redness reducing eyedrops
  • Water
  • An empty craft pot storage thing... mines plastic and made to sort beads (got it at Michael's for 8.99 with a 40% off coupon and it came with a bunch of other pots)
Now it looks like alot and it is lol. But hey, why not. I use most of it everyday anyways. I just wanna save some time and getting desired effects of all of the products I like.

I didn't really use exact measurements...
I just made it match my skintone by playing around with materials. But I can give you the just of it
  • 2 second pour of glycerin
  • 6 pumps of moisturizer
  • three pea sized amounts of sunscreen
  • Very small amount of almond oil about half of a teaspoon
  • Squirt of Benzol Peroxide (cuz my skin sucks)

Pretty much just to give me a base.

I started to hack up some concealer....

Mixing a lot to improve consistency and make it creamy.

Checking the color to make sure it was close

And then added the other BB creams that I wasn't able to use anymore.

And then this little pot of gold came out of everything.

No, it's not full coverage obviously
But it has been making my skin happy for some reason... clearer than normal even though I always use the stuff in it. I still use a green concealer and regular concealer underneath of it to try to get better coverage without the cake effect of summer.

I use a stippling brush and apply it in small light circles towards the inside of my face and a little downward.

It makes me a little dewy looking, which I like but it's easily made matte with a light dusting of finishing powder or corn starch.

If you have any comments or questions let me know or any improvements that you use for yourself too!

DIY cheek stain ;D

I've been dying to have the cheek stain/tint from Tart. Why does it have to be so expensive? Blah. I'm trying to figure out how to make a good tint for my cheeks. From beets and berries to food coloring. I chose to use food coloring because of it's shelf life compared to beets... Ain't nobody got time for that
Too much prep and too little use around the house otherwise because I haven't eaten anything with them in it. Hmm..
Anyways,
I was trying to think of a way to get it into more of a solid without bees wax just because I wanted it right then, and because just using food coloring, glycerin, a water was just too liquidy for my liking. It does give a nice color though.

Materials:
  • red food coloring
  • glycerin
  • water
  • coconut oil

After trying different ways to make the mixture more solid I started messing around with coconut oil. I put a little makeup pot of the oil in the fridge for ten minutes to make it a little more thick. Then I added six drops of red food coloring and the glycerin and mixed until it was all blended and pretty much a liquid again. Then I put it back in the fridge...

It took about 15 minutes

And here is my finished project! :)

It's late so I'm gonna wear it tomorrow and see how it goes. Hopefully it's good lol

DIY Sugar Scrub and Moisterizer

I've always used an exfoliant on my skin and lots of lotions and potions and weird stuff just to see what it does and this is by far my favorite way to make a sugar scrub.

Materials:
  • Coffee grounds
  • Raw sugar
  • Brown Sugar
  • Almond oil
  • Castor oil
  • Glycerin
  • Tea Tree oil
  • Coconut oil

I mix a wet ingrediant then and oil and then repeat until it's all mixed.

  • 3 tsp of almond oil
  • 1/4 cup used coffee grounds
  • 1 tbs castor oil
  • 1/8 cup raw sugar
  • 2 tbs glycerin
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Tea Tree oil
  • 1 tsp coconut oil

It makes a good amount. I keep it in the shower in a little jar. It's messy but worth it. I always put lotion on after as well but it is very moisturizing!
